Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Girls on the Run of Charlotte!  We also have numerous volunteer opportunities ranging from coaching to helping at our end of season 5K.  Below you will find a descriptions of what is involved with coaching our program.

General Information:

• The program is offered twice a year: Fall (mid-Sept. to mid December) Spring (mid-February to mid-May).
• Most of our programs meet twice a week after school for 1 hour. We have a few that meet one day a week and also in the morning. Coaches are expected to attend every session.
• Each site has a head coach and one to two assistant coaches.

Requirements for Volunteers:

• Genuine interest in leading a healthy life.
• Interest in physical fitness or running.
• Commitment to the mission of GOTR.
• Reliable, honest and positive outlook on life.
• Interest in the issues facing young women today.
• Desire to get involved in a nonprofit organization and help create public awareness.

Requirements for Running Buddies:

•  A positive female role model
• 18+ years of age
• A great desire to make a difference in the life of a girl
• Flexible / ability to accommodate to a changing environment
• Attend a Running buddy training
• Strives to lead a healthy lifestyle
